On the occasion of her presentation at the Museo Jumex, artist Simone Fattal (Damascus, 1942) reflects on her practice in conversation with Cristiano Raimondi. Fattal was awarded the XLIX Prix International d’Art Contemporain, in recognition of her six-decade-long practice spanning sculpture, painting, collage, writing, and publishing. Her visual language in ceramics and sculpture is marked by the archaic bodies and figures in transit that evoke the human spirit in relation to history.
